AudioRun Terms of Use
Effective date: 2026-08-10
AudioRun is a running tracker with voice announcements and optional AI coaching, developed by an independent developer. Contact: mail@mjones-foui.no
These terms cover using the app and, if you buy it, the AudioRun Pro subscription. Your privacy is covered separately, in the Privacy Policy.
By using AudioRun you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't use the app.
Safety comes first
AudioRun is a fitness tool, not a medical device, and its AI coach is not a doctor, a physiotherapist, or a qualified coach.
- Nothing the app says is medical advice. Heart-rate zones, pace targets and coaching messages are generated from sensor readings and statistics, and can be wrong.
- Talk to a doctor before starting or significantly changing a training programme, especially if you have a heart condition, are pregnant, are recovering from injury, or have been inactive for a long time.
- Stop and seek help if you feel unwell. Never keep running because the app suggested a pace or told you to push.
- You are responsible for your own safety while running: watch traffic, watch your footing, and stay aware of your surroundings. Listening to spoken announcements or coaching reduces your awareness of what's around you. Don't use headphones where doing so is unsafe or illegal.
- Don't operate the app while driving or cycling in traffic.
GPS distance, pace and elevation are estimates. They depend on signal quality, your phone's hardware and the environment, and will not always agree with a race timing chip, a running watch, or another app.
What AudioRun Pro is
Pro unlocks AI coaching: live spoken coaching during a run, and the spoken post-run debrief. That is the entire difference. Every other feature — GPS tracking, spoken stats, splits, heart-rate support, offline maps, Strava upload, history, personal bests, backup and restore — is free, without ads and without limits, whether or not you subscribe.
Nothing about Pro is promised beyond AI coaching. If a future feature is added to Pro, it will be described before you're asked to pay for it.
Buying, billing and cancelling
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Google Play, not by us. That means:
- Payment, renewal, price changes, taxes and receipts are handled by Google under Google Play's own terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them. Cancel any time in the Google Play Store under Subscriptions, or from the link in AudioRun's Settings.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not cut off access immediately — you keep AI coaching until the period you already paid for runs out.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under their refund policy. We can't process a refund ourselves, but if something is broken, email mail@mjones-foui.no and we'll try to help.
- If a payment fails or a subscription is suspended, AI coaching stops until the payment is resolved.
The app checks your subscription with Google Play and remembers the answer, so coaching keeps working when you run somewhere without signal. If Google Play can't be reached, the app keeps whatever it last confirmed rather than locking you out mid-run.
Fair use of AI coaching
AI coaching runs on paid third-party language models. Each coaching message and each post-run debrief costs real money to generate, so the service applies usage limits. These limits are set far above what running can actually produce and exist to stop abuse, not to ration normal use.
For scale: the app enforces a minimum of 60 seconds between coaching messages, and in practice a typical hour-long run produces somewhere around ten to twenty coaching messages plus a single debrief. The limits sit well above that.
Specifically:
- There is a cap on coaching requests per installation per day, and a shorter-term burst limit. A normal day of running — including a long race — stays comfortably underneath.
- There is also a daily ceiling on how much coaching a single installation can consume, measured by what it actually costs to generate, so an unusually expensive pattern of use is bounded as well as an unusually frequent one.
- There are overall daily and monthly service limits across all users.
- Each individual request is capped in length.
If you hit a limit, coaching stops for a while and the app says so. Your run is completely unaffected: tracking, spoken stats, splits, heart rate and the saved session all continue exactly as normal. Coaching resumes automatically once the limit resets.
We may adjust these limits as usage and costs change. If a change would affect normal use, we'll say so in the release notes.
What is not allowed. You agree not to:
- Feed the app fabricated location or sensor data — including GPS spoofing or mock-location tools — to generate coaching requests.
- Automate, script or replay activity to produce requests faster than actually running would.
- Extract credentials from the app, or use its coaching endpoint from anything other than the app itself.
- Resell, redistribute or share access to AI coaching, or use it as a general-purpose language-model service.
- Attempt to bypass the usage limits, including by repeatedly reinstalling to reset them.
If an installation abuses the service, we may limit or block its access to AI coaching. Where we can identify a paid subscription being used this way, we may end it; you can still request a refund through Google Play.
Availability
AudioRun is made by one person. AI coaching depends on third-party services that can be slow, unavailable, or discontinued without notice. Coaching may be unavailable at times, and the app is built to degrade quietly when it is — the run keeps recording and everything else keeps working.
We don't promise any particular uptime. If AI coaching were ever discontinued entirely, we would stop selling subscriptions and let existing ones run out or be refunded through Google Play.
Your content
Your runs are yours. We claim no ownership of your routes, statistics or notes. The app stores them on your device; what leaves it, and when, is described in the Privacy Policy.
You're responsible for keeping your own backups. AudioRun has an export function for exactly this. Uninstalling the app deletes its data.
The app itself
AudioRun is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. You may not decompile, modify or redistribute it, except where the law explicitly allows it.
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for injury, lost data, missed goals, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using the app. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you're a consumer, you keep all the statutory rights your country gives you; nothing in these terms takes those away.
Age
AudioRun is intended for users 18 and over and is not directed at children.
Changes to these terms
Material changes will be published at this address and noted in the app's release notes. If a change materially reduces what a paid subscription gets you, it takes effect at your next renewal, not during a period you've already paid for.
